Installing Mailbox Role failed: "...parent object for Default Offline Address Book could not be found..."
I have a test Domain environment setup where a previous install of Exchange 2007 existed, but was taken down is now unrecoverable. I've been in the process of replacing this exchange server with a new install of Exchange 2007 on a completely different machine. I've run into a couple issues with the readiness checks that I've posted previous questions about that have been answered: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/thread/3edf7a06-6ff2-4798-a235-6014548d26ae/ http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/thread/cd289ce7-0896-40c3-8722-2ce541bf8813/ Now that I'm past the readiness checks after performing the suggestions from my previous posts I am unable to install the Mailbox Role with the following error: "The parent object for Default Offline Address Book could not be found. Please check that Offline Address Lists exists." Any ideas on how to get past this error to install the Mailbox Role?

You should recover the old server, because if you haven't it will still be there in the domain and the new install will be expecting to see it. If you have gone too far that a recovery isn't possible, I would rebuild the domain, particularly given it is a test domain.
